Join The HelpKC in coalition with Dream Corps Justice (formerly #cut50), empathy network and national organizers for the 2021 National Day of Empathy on Tuesday March 2nd from 11am-1230pm via Zoom.
Dream Corps Justice is co-founded by CNN political commentator and REFORM Alliance CEO Van Jones. The National Day of Empathy brings together people from all walks of life who have been negatively impacted by America's criminal justice system.
The National #DayofEmpathy is an excellent occasion to reach families, persons impacted, and community partners who collaborate with The Help(KC) in striving to ensure that all people in not only Kansas City, but the entire state of Missouri can reset their lives.
As part of the agenda for this year’s #DayofEmpathy, we are focusing attention on Navigating Barriers to Reentry and HB-318, Dignity Bill
We will have the pleasure of having International Speaker, Recovery Coach, Mental Health Advocate, and author of Wife After Prison, Caught in The Aftermath, Shelia Bruno. She is known for giving voice to incarceration’s psychological impact, known as Post Incarceration Syndrome (PICS). Participants will also hear directly from both men and women who have been impacted by the criminal justice system who are now advocates, activists, organizers, community leaders and entrepreneurs.

Empathy Network advocates and organizers across our nation will seek to explore the role of empathy in changing existing policies and practices in our criminal legal system. On Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021, we will gather for the fifth annual Day of Empathy.
