11:00 am panel: COVID in prison, moderated by Josh Hoe, policy analyst, Safe & Just Michigan

Guests include Michigan state Rep. Tenisha Yancey, Detroit Free Press writer Angie Jackson and Lorenzo Garrett, who sentence was recently commuted

1:00 pm panel: Long and indeterminate sentences, moderated by Daniel Jones, project coordinator, Michigan Collaboration to End Mass Incarceration (MI-CEMI)

3:00 pm panel: Civic oversight for pregnant people in prison, moderated by Natalie Holbrook, director, American Friends Service Committee Michigan Criminal Justice Program

Empathy Network advocates and organizers across our nation will seek to explore the role of empathy in changing existing policies and practices in our criminal legal system.
