Pass an Economic Relief Package That Will Help the Most Vulnerable

As the outbreak of COVID-19 escalates, we are urging Congress to protect the most vulnerable among us and to act in recognition that this pandemic is not just a health crisis--it is an economic, racial, and social justice issue as well. We can’t ignore the people and communities hit first and worst by the generations of inaction and discrimination built into our systems. Join us in urging Congress to ensure black and brown communities and low-income communities are prioritized in any and all measures we take during this crisis.

Add your name to ensure the Senate pass the Families First Coronavirus Response Act and that those most vulnerable to protected in any economic relief package.

Dear Member of Congress:

I support the “Families First Coronavirus Response Act” to provide free COVID-19 testing, paid sick leave, enhanced unemployment insurance, greater funding for food security programs and increasing Medicaid funding, and I urge the Senate to pass it as soon as possible. In addition, as the economic security of many Americans becomes dire in the coming weeks, I urge you to incorporate the priorities identified below into any economic stimulus or relief package.

  • Address housing instability and home safety.
  • Increase coverage of paid sick leave.
  • Address the demands of frontline health workers.
  • Preserve the right to vote.
  • Keep public transit running.
  • Provide dignity and safety for people who are incarcerated.
  • Issue direct relief payments.
  • Address the “Homework Gap”.
  • Provide relief to communities of color and low-income communities.
Ensure that any and all emergency COVID-19 relief — including medical aid, economic support, and business or policy changes — flow directly to and predominantly benefit vulnerable communities of color and low-income individuals.
